Sunday

I wore my Montrail POS shoes yesterday for too long and today I feel like my forefoot is bruised. Pain in the bones when I take a step. After my run we went in to Boulder to shop and I dropped the Montrails off at the thrift store. $160 shoes not worth a penny to me (I won them in a race). I feel guilty that someone else may pay money for them. I did find a pair of Mizunos that look very lightly used so I bought them as a replacement. $9.00 which is about right. It's well below zero today with snow coming down on top of the 6" we got last night. Not sure what, if anything, I'll do today.

Funny how the more expensive shoes suck the worst. I won't even go into my stance on the $175 Newtons. First the calf went, then the foot-all because of those dumb shoes. Good luck with the Mizuno's!!!

No doubt! Newton might be at the pinnacle of running shoe scams. No running shoe is worth what they cost. Maybe the Target or Wal-mart shoes. Like I said- $9.00 for the Mizunos is about right. You should have left your Newtons in your car :)

two words: snow shoes(or maybe that's just one word, so if it's one, here's a different two: snowshoes princess)

I hate snowshoes. I really do. I ran one snowshoe race (a 10k) in Winter Park, first time ever on snowshoes. I was 3rd in 59:00 behind Andy Bruckner and a pro runner dude. Miserable and awful and it left a bad taste in my mouth. Literally... I think it was blood and puke. I'll take the 'wuss' moniker and skip the snowshoes.

Which Montrails were these? The reason I ask is I just picked up a pair of Mountain Masochist's that I haven't worn yet and I don't want to do damage to myself.

Eric- They weren't Mascochists (which I want to try myself), they were their burliest shoes that wore more like boots. They just didn't work with my feet, I'm sure they are someone elses dream shoes. Every company makes a pair of crappy shoes, but they also usually make an equally great pair. I'm sure you won't have a problem with the Masochists.

whatever happened with End shoe idea? And are you getting to train at all despite that weather?

They were too expensive. I allot myself $30.00 per month to spend on things I don't need. I ran yesterday...

The Masochists work for me. More like running shoes than other trail shoes I've tried. Wish I could find some for $9.
