I love the area - just stunning

No kidding huh? It feels like Seattle in the winter. It started to dump rain before I finished today. I love this kind of weather though, especially up here. With the clouds and zero traffic it's amazingly peaceful. That switch back picture is just above my house and the pictures looking over the valley are looking down on my neighborhood. You can hit close to 9000ft really quickly.

Yea I ran at 26 ft at 5 AM at 78F with 95% humidity. I am jealous. Thanks for sharing your pictures.

Kevin- I certainly don't miss the heat! It was a tad chilly even for me this morning. I thought it would break in to the 30's but it hovered right at 40. I would bet that your heat and humidity is harder than the altitude...

Tim,

Were you living in Colorado during your IM days? I was curious if you went anywhere special for heat camp while preparing for Kona? Thanks for the pics. Very peaceful.

Kevin- Good question. I was in Seattle and Colorado during all my Ironman days and would simply bundle up when it got cooler out. Not much else you can do. You could always tell who was training for Kona, on a nice 70 degree day they would be in full tights and a jacket. I do very well in the heat so I never had any issues with it.

Damn, and we ran at SBR trail why???

Because you didn't need 10% grades at 8500ft! Although the downhills would have been good for you...
