Thursday 0 miles

I took the day off from running simply to blow any chance of getting 100 for the week. If I had run then I would be on for 100 and tempted to push for it. So I took it out of the equation. I am going to cut my volume over the next ~6 weeks and focus on harder workouts and start to rehab myself off the HR monitor. My aerobic fitness is plenty strong for my goal at Chicago but I am lacking the muscular strength to maintain pace for 26 miles. Part of the problem is that 100 miles at 8000+ ft altitude is still not easy for me... or not easy enough for me to include truly fast workouts (fast and hard are different- I can run plenty hard but it's not fast). For my aerobic fitness I have sacrificed resting up for key sessions and have been tired going in to all of them.

Nice, like it!
I just come off several weeks of 60 miles and I have been running faster than ever. But that 95min. run this am was loooong. ;)

Thanks Uli! Fiona told me you ran well in your 10k, it sounds like you are flying!

PR yes (32:41) but flying??

Track 10k in spikes at night is a neat thing. But man did my legs hurt for DAYS. :P

Cheers
