Wednesday Track + recovery run 13 miles.

Jeff joined me for much of this. I made it a point to shut off my brain today and simply run for fun and run how I felt.
3 X 400 in 78"/ 70"/ 72"
4 X 1 mile in 5:13/ 5:13/ 5:13/ 5:16
400 in 65"
300 in 47"
200 in 30"
I couldn't resist and ran the last few repeats with Olympian Matt Reed who was also doing a track workout. Over the years I have suffered greatly behind, beside, and on rare occasion's, in front of Matt. Matty's one of the 'good ones' in my book.. and my book only has one page.

After my run I stopped by the thrift store...

A damn near brand new pair of Nike Frees, Brooks Adrenaline.. and 3 pairs of sweet jeans for my growing son. Total price: $22.73.. Savings: ~$200.

PM) 4.5 miles very slow and very relaxed jogging with a max HR of 140 which made we walk nearly every hill. I think these runs work very well for me.

Those mile repeats are quick. You should've raced on Sunday!

Nice to see you're getting after it. It's dejavu for me: LSD just like last year. That just works for me this early in the season. So, it's my 2008 Lucho led program, same as before.

And . . .

I have been Michael’s number two guy for about 5 years. And we make a great team. We’re like one of those classic famous teams. He’s like Mozart and I’m like...Mozart's friend. No. I’m like Butch Cassidy and Michael is like...Mozart. You try and hurt Mozart? You’re gonna get a bullet in your head courtesy of Butch Cassidy.

I enjoy your blog and your sense of humor. Sorry to hear of your funk but it looks like you knocked out a damn fine workout today. Hope it lifted your spirits. You may be putting too much pressure on yourself(been there). Keep the faith!

Justin- I think (that's my problem) that I made the right choice. A poor showing would have messed with my head. Stupid, I know.

Nice Matt! I love the Mozart/ Cassidy quote.

Much appreciated Jeff- My funk, I believe, is caused partly by not having control over my schedule. GZ nailed it on the head though, I'm spinning quite a few plates right now. If I can shut down my brain and just run.. just do what I love and love it.. I'll do fine.
Cheers!

Fatdad- That's funny because I do wear knickers. I have quite a few pairs.

You okay bro? The blog has taken a negative vibe. You got great things in your life as you know. Shit, if this running and tri thing wasn't hard we would go and find something that was. Just in the DNA.

One other thing I was thinking of...your blog tends to do that to me quite often...much more than I let on...whenever I doubt myself I also doubt my coach and what we are doing. Typically these periods of doubt come when I am tired, dead tired, and my ability to logically think is impaired. It sounds like you have a lot in your life right now. Much respect amigo,
J

Thanks Josh- Good to hear from you. Part of why I am down on my coach has not been revealed here.
I apologize for the negativity... that sucks! Thanks for reminding me- it ends (aaaarrrrgggghhh!).. now. My life is awesome and amazing, thanks for the slap.
Cheers my friend.
