Monday

am) 7 miles in 59:50 with an average HR of 143. 8:32 pace.. That was my run today and I felt quite good.

Last night I was trimming branches with a hand saw and slid the blade in to my thumb joint. I felt the teeth drag on the bone. I think I nicked the tendon, today my thumb doesn't work quite right. Super glue works as sutures.. I think. I didn't want to spend the money on an ER visit so Jo offered to sew it closed.. and I think she would have if I had let her.

With enough scotch, fries, and steak, you won't feel a thing...

My Dad has a similar scar from almost the same incident. For 20 years he had me believing it was from a shark bite.

Dude ... the tendon thing is a bitch but watch that thing for infection (umm, like tetnus). Ouch.

I had tetnus on my cereal this morning..

I think we should race. NOW. I'm pretty sure I could take you....
injured and running 8:30 miles, I like the odds of the slight advantage I might have.
I think you should let Jo sew it closed, with some kind of design.

Hi Tim

been reading a bit of your blog again....
you have had many posts about how much you are enjoying your time watching your boy grow up...i read the cormack mcarthy - the road book a while ago..as a father of 2 lads it wasnt an easy read but although the book is fiction it hit the right emotional timbre for me to appreciate the time i have with my lads....
sometimes when we are feeling a bit down we need to read somthing "mollig" as they say here in Germany...give it a try and good look with your training for 2009

Greetings from Germany

Scott

Cheers Scott! Not sure I can handle depressing stories but I will give the book a look. Thank you for the good word!

Kerrie- Whatever. There is no physical state or disability that would ever force me to run as slow as you. :) Just kidding.
A friend of mine once tried to set my broken nose for me after I tried to put my face through the dashboard of his car the night before. We did shots until I was numb then he punched me... tried for the nose but was off just a bit and I ended up with a black eye. Knowing my luck something like that would happen if I tried to sew my own thumb. I would end up accidentally sewing my face to my hand or something. Which would cover up my broken nose..

I say pull out the super glue and an ace bandage! Wow, its like you're in Special Forces! Your tetnus for breakfast sounds like something Chuck Norris would do.
