Thursday 6 miles & chopping wood

Jogged 6 miles at Gross Reservoir- legs felt very good. Running hard at high altitude (from what I understand) is not as damaging to muscles because the lack of oxygen doesn't allow muscles to fire as effectively. Even though the efforts were hard yesterday I wasn't able to run hard enough to hurt myself.. not sure how correct that is. I did feel a bit drained though.

After my run I scored a large tree from a US Forest Service guy. I spent 2 hours later in the day chopping wood. I have a chainsaw but where's the fun in that? After getting the tree in to my back yard by myself (it was ~30 ft long and I wrapped a log chain around it and dragged it across an acre) plus 2 hours of chopping it in to 1 foot sections... my back, shoulders, arms and entire core was exhausted. What a blast! I don't think this day is what my coach meant by "recovery"..
