Practice

During my morning jog yesterday I looked down at one point and saw this golf ball half buried in the dirt. It was sort of an interesting and thought provoking moment.. the letters were the only thing I could see.

Brett posted a comment on yesterday's entry in regards to nutrition. I get a lot of questions about this and I think I am going to work on posting my food logs and explaining my thoughts on nutrition. Eating is the simplest of things.. but we in America have made it in to something else besides a way to sustain life. I used to think (and I admit I was ignorant) that over weight people were lazy and weak. I apologize for that thought. Since I stopped training for Ironman and burning a million calories a day I can now see how difficult it is to hold the correct caloric intake each day! So, I will start to document my own struggles in this regard and how I deal with it.

Did you know that "practice" can be rearranged to spell "cite crap"? It seems as though many athletes, coaches and physiologists would rather cite crap than practice. And while practice doesn't make perfect, it should be understood that it isn't supposed to. Practice is about increasing your inventory of ways to recover from your mistakes. That's all I have to say about that.
