MAF test

 Here's the Strava data.
6 miles in 1:03
10:31 average pace
146 average HR.
957ft of vertical gain. Lowest altitude 7991ft.
Very difficult to hold HR down. A dog ran out in the road and my HR shot to 160. AC/DC's Thunderstruck had me at 155... walking. Super touchy, which is only showing me how fit unfit I am. This is motivating to me though, not even slightly frustrating because this is an honest assessment of my fitness.
I'll try to run this same route again in a week and see if there's progress.

I was thinking about you today as I was riding... Really just remembering back to when you had me riding HR 140-150 and I had to soft pedal la la la to keep it under 150... Same section of road today, same wind... Had to jam along pushing 180+W just to keep HR mid-140's!. :) Love how fitness works like that. I bet in a month you'll drop 2+'/mile off that MAF test...

I predict 1 minute per mile decrease for the next 2-3 weeks and then it will taper off.

I remember the last time I came back from time off a couple years ago and my HR/pace was about the same. I think I literally was laughing out loud at myself as I was jogging!

Mama- It's good stuff, no doubt!

Brett- I was actually thinking a minute faster in 7 days :) We'll see! I'll post it.

Sorry, that's what meant - 1 minute per mile per week! I was not an English major, LOL.

Brett- I was being an arrogant ass... which is what I have my PhD in.

I am very curious as to what this would be on a real flat course down here.

I'll try to find out on Monday but from my experience it's about ~1:30 per mile slower up here. We'll see.

Lucho - I'm wondering whether you might be able to answer a few questions about the MAF process and whether it might behoove me to try it. I've done some research and on both things I've found they mention your name. I just want to find out IYHO whether it might be something that would do me some good....
