Friday 2 miles and Evans field changes

 Easy jogging.
Update on Evans... Jason Delaney is out with an injury, but uber-bad-ass Mario Macias is racing!  If the weather is good (no wind) then my bets are on Carpenter's record falling! He takes races out super hard which is going to be awesome to watch, I wonder if anyone will have the balls to go with him? I'm picking him for the W in 1:36 if there's no wind. This guy just beat Max King by over 2:00 in a hilly, high altitude half marathon.

Damn, I just ran with Jason last week and we were talking about his race.

Mario doesn't lose in Colorado. CR is in serious jeopardy.

Justin- Yes, I agree... if it's calm then he's going to kill it! It'll be fun to watch... when I can catch a glimpse of him several switch backs up. The guy is on fire!
I think Jason has a foot injury.

Mario ran last weekend here in the Springs for the GOG 10 miler and won by about 3 1/2 minutes. He didn't set the CR b/c I think he had enough time to stop at Balanced Rock for some photo opportunities w/ the tourists.

Macias has 1:05 half marathon speed at altitude (Denver) and said he had an off day when he ran a 2:18 marathon. And Aish is no slouch. Holy fart, this could be a barn burner.

Knuckledragger- Ha! I almost believe that!

Brett- I think he has 1:02 speed... not that he's run a 1:02 though. I think at the Denver 1/2 he just cruised.

I don't know what shape Matt Carpenter is in, but it would have been cool for him to come out and try and defend his CR.

No doubt! I wonder if Mario takes the CR tomorrow if he'll be invited to Pikes? Not sure if Pikes works that way or not...

GZ would know. There are competitive entry spots available outside of the regular registration and time slots.

But does this guy run trails...and run downhill on technical trails?

Competitive entry requests for Pikes can be submitted up until July 22.

... unless you have won before. Then it is up until a week before the race. I think this is actually a slight change because I had heard you could as a former winner declare the day before the race in past years.

I recall running once with Galen and Scott E (it was my first time running with either of them, and they both were there together actually ...) and I asked if they had registered yet. They sort of grinned and said they did not need to.

Felt like a tool.
