Leadville 100 run is re-opening registration on April 1st.
I got to ride one my bike sponsor's super sweet rides today. A Lenz Leviathan 4.0 is what I'll be riding at Leadville. Amazing to say the least.
Puuurdy! Looks fast:) Even though I'm sure I don't need to say it: Ride the hell out of that thing! Awesome man. Any idea of tire choice for Leadville?
No clue! I'm still new to this. I imagine I'll bring an extra set dependent on weather conditions though. I'll be sorting that all out in training. Any suggestions? High alpine desert and sandy. Mostly fire road.
I think Levi ran Hutchinson Piranahs last year, but like you said it all depends on conditions. I think you can still see pics of all the Leadville bikes on singletrack.com from last year. They give a pretty detailed description of components, tires, etc. on all the bikes. So jealous! Wish I was goin' too!
Sorry, it was the Hutchinon Cobras on Levi's bike... http://singletrack.competitor.com/2010/08/uncategorized/leadville-bike-tech-levi-ned-and-jeremiahs-rigs_9773?album=68&gallery=208&pid=2815
Holy cow... that gallery was like porn. I can't believe Bishop's bike weighed 19.4 lbs! And Levi's bike is almost too nice to ride. Trek built that for him just for Pb. Beautiful stuff.
I'd never heard of Lenze before this week, now I've seen it about three times. I think fate is telling me I need to buy one for the Silver Rush. Now I just have to convince my wife that I don't have a choice in the matter.
It's a very light frame so it's going to be component (wheel) dependent. They are going to let me use some sick light race wheels though soon race day I think it should be in the 22-23# range or so? Coming off my 35 pound steel 29er it's going to be sick.
yeah... i will be sick... and comfortable! i you need any weight shaving advice let me know.... if i don't have the answers I have a lot of friends that do.

Yeah Bishop's 29er weighed less than my road bike does!:) Glad you enjoyed it!
