We are forecast for 1-2 feet of snow tonight and it has begun. Shaun (one of my athletes who just PR'd in the half marathon by 22 minutes) and Ghostfeather are possibly sticking pins in a Lucho doll tonight... but I am super psyched for this. The two pictures below were taken 30:00 apart and the snow continues to fall harder by the minute. Like an 8 year old hearing the potential for a snow day I have been feverishly mapping an epic run route for tomorrow. I had planned on 35 miles down on the flats but with the potential for a huge snow dump I will shoot for 35 miles up here in the snow.
The tire in the picture is bolted to a big log and it's been my core workout for the past month... I beat the crap out of it with an 8 pound sledge hammer. I can go to town on it for several minutes straight now before losing my grip on the sledge. When I started it only took about a minute before I would drop it. It sounds goofy but if you try it you might change your mind.

You are crazy, man. Crazy! Aren't you sick of snow yet!? :) I guess not--which is why you live in the mountains.
Interesting about the sledgehammer workout. Not sure what that says about you, Lucho....
I love the snow! I used to be a heat guy (I raced Kona 6 times and loved it the hotter it was). Not sure why I now love the cold?
The sledgehammer workout has been around for decades. I don't go to a gym, they are all too far away. So this works well. I chopped wood most of last fall but finished it all off.
TOOL live at Red Rocks Amphitheatre Monday, June 28 and Tuesday June 29, 2010.
Tix on sale on Saturday.
Hah, true! My Lucho-face Dartboard is in the mail, too.
well, just for kicks, i hope you get some kind of freak storm reversal and get a heat wave up there. i'm really not enjoying your enjoyment about the snow. i'm over it. it's may and i want to sweat when i go outside.
i'm off to pout now.
GZ- Ya, no thanks. I love their music but I don't think I want to be amongst thousands of their fans.
Shaun- Dart board... nice.
Kerrie- Well, we ended up at ~8" and this morning it is 15 degrees. No heat wave, which surprises me since global warming is so horrible.
