We (the boys and myself... or is it me and the boys? Or the boys and I? I knew I should have listened to Mrs. Hempler in 6th grade. Or was it Miss?) drove up Lookout Mountain (21:00 from my front door) and visited Buffalo Bill Cody's grave. Kind of a cool piece of American West history. Lookout Mountain, the road, kicked ass. It's 5 miles and ~2000ft of elevation gain. There is also a trail that I want to investigate. This will be a killer run this Spring! I saw maybe 10 cyclists and 3 cars.
I found this too long video of the road... at ~1:45 the cyclist almost gets taken out by a deer.

The trail is excellent...not really that steep though, just switchbacks mainly. I did it on my mountain bike a few years ago...totally rideable the whole way if that gives you an idea on pitch. You park right on the right side of 93 right after passing the Route 6 intersection...you have probably seen all of the cars already parked there.
Bone Scan day! Hope you get some results VERY QUICKLY.
Thanks Chris.
How thoughtful TGP! Thanks!
I run up the road from the pillars to the grave and back a good bit in the summer for Pikes training. Not as steep as Pikes, but makes for good climbing close to town. Can usually pass a few bikes when running up.
The coolest thing to see if the high schoolers riding skateboards down it in full body leather and helmets. Really crazy.
Cool Justin. I'm only ~15:00 from Standley Lake you know... we definitely have to hook up for more runs this Spring and Summer.
It looks like Acadia National Park in Maine. Weird.
It is The boys and I because you and the boys are the SUBJECT of the sentence. You use the pronoun me when it is the object in the sentence.
And the P.C. term is Ms.
And yes, I spent the last 15 years as a middle school English teacher, and you're right, you should have listened! I knew you weren't listening...
I call my writing 'creative writing'. :)
Instead of trying to decide when you're a subject and when you're an object (I'd have to look it up every time to decide which is which), just try reading it without, in this example, "the boys" and use whatever would be appropriate there. It's pretty much foolproof, even though you'll use "me" instead of "I" more often than you might think is right (most people want to say " and I" every time because they think it's more formal, but they're wrong). It's a handy rule of thumb that I've been using since I learned it in middle school.
Jason- I totally forgot about that trick, thanks for the reminder. So basically it wouldn't read "me drove up" or "myself drove up". But "I drove up" is right so it's the "boys and I". Thanks
