Monday run in pictures.

14 miles with easily 4k of climbing. Average HR 146/ average pace 8:35. Solid run.
This is maybe the best picture of Eldorado I've ever seen, or taken. I say that because most are taken while looking up at it. This is 3.2 miles from my house and close to 9000ft. I'm still in awe of being able to walk out my front door and be here in minutes.

This was just 1/2 a mile further. The picture above is the front range (looking towards Kansas and West Virginia) and the picture below is the Continental Divide (looking towards Utah and Japan).

Walker Ranch (looking towards Moose Jaw).

The Indian Peaks.

So if you don't make it as a cake designer, you may have a future in outdoor photography.

I got a new camera for Christmas, just a little but nice point and shoot. The first picture of the back of Eldorado turned out nice.
Ward- 9000ft isn't as breathtaking when you only live 800ft lower... but ya! I have to be careful to always appreciate where I live.

Given the flat top profile of that peak, I am thinking it is Longs in the second shot.

And it always blows my mind to think how high the summit is. In your case, it is just under a mile overhead in that shot.

Yep, Longs. And yep, it's high! When I lived in Seattle on clear days Ranier would be looming above. Amazing to be at sea level looking up at a 14'er. Same in Kona.
I was thinking after I read your blog that we were taking pictures towards each other... sort of. You guys were just over Eldorado while I was running.
Cool run you guys did! I would kill to run with such a legend! I mean the guy is a total bad ass and my day will come when I get to at least meet the guy. I just hope Brandon is as cool as everyone says.

Excellent.

Yeah, I asked if you and Brandon had met yet, and he confirmed no.

You up for some easy running next Sat morning with the mythical ultra guy?

Yikes. You mean run with PEOPLE!? I'm not sure if I remember how. I'll let you know though. Thanks!

Glad I spend trolling these blogs to be sure that I am getting the respect that I deserve.

I got plans for Lucho come May-ish. I gotta go get my balls tweaked like he did already. It will even the playing field. No man powers!

Brandon- Ya, have fun with that. I got lucky and had a cute nurse... I'll bet you're going to have a dude washing your junk. I also shaved in a smiley face which I really think brightened their day.
You've been up Rollins Pass, that's where I'll be every day from June on.

Wende- Yup.

Yep, from the beginning to the top on the Moffat Road.

Great... now I can never look at a smiley face again without that image popping into my head!

Nice! I've never been up the road but lived in Winter Park for several years. I've camped at the top on Park side. I'm about 20:00 from Tolland Road and we camped up by the tunnel this summer... this summer we'll be on tree line. Awesome place to train for Leadville, you think?

Ward- I can send you a picture if that will help? Ugh... that was bad even for me.

Should be able to put 40 miles in there. Otherwise, I see myself running from my house to Green Mountain and back. Or from Boulder to your house and back.

I run to Boulder and pick you up. You run with me back. Refuel then head back.
All this talk of Tolland and I might head up there tomorrow morning.
