Taking the medicine

Start of week 3 of zero running and I can feel the rest taking hold finally, everything is feeling solid and strong. My feet feel better than they have in months.
Looking back at my training logs, last year this time I took 5 weeks off completely, no cross training, and 2 weeks after I started back I ran a MAF test at 6:50 per mile average.

Glad all is well.. stay focused. But the bigger question is... how's the face fro coming along?
I decided to give one a shot this winter as well for the first time in over 20+ years.

Aren't you fidgety?
(in addition to being hairy.)

I have plenty of other things in my life besides running. Spending all of my energy on my kids and wife has been awesome. I will get fidgety to run soon though. When I shut it down I relax and step away from it as much as I can. Then when I train my focus is sharper and I can train much harder.

Wait? There are other things in life than running????
jk
I just get physically fidgety when I take time off.. like I want to jump out of my skin if I don't get my hr up kind of thing.

Ok. So I'm the odd man out. I admit it. Didn't think about fidgety, or your beard. My very cleaned up one word first thought reading this post was akin to something I think Gordo said, "That's one fit dude..." (or some such phrase) upon seeing a 6:50 MAF after a 5 week hiatus of no training.

But after that I could get on to other things like how cool (er warm and functional your beard must be) and I truly am glad to hear your feet and the rest of you is better shape now.

The profane one word thought in my head is only a whisper of an echo now ;)

Thanks Ace. I have heard Gordo say that.
