Brett is racing the Charlotte Marathon on Saturday and feeling very good. His run tonight was 4 miles at 8:20 pace with an average HR of 122 (goal pace has been hitting ~145 HR). He feels very good and his mind is strong and positive. My recommendation was to hold goal pace to 13 miles then let it fly if his gut is taking fuel. I'm already amped up for Saturday! I have butterfly's for him and feel nervous.
Bummer that marathons don't broadcast live internet results. With the timing chips it seems like it would be simple?

Go Brett!
Way to go, coach.
Yea I think we Carolinians are a bit behind in technology. :) I'll be sure to drop you a line after I finish and run find somewhere warm to hide.
My parents and kids will be meeting me a couple times on the course, so it should be a blast. In 2007 my Dad pushed my (then 5 year old) daughter over to the finish line microphone and they let her say 'good job Daddy' when I came across...so she's the one who should be nervous - can she sneak that one in again?
Thanks for your advice. I'll take it with me in the pool tonight. Also printing and saving the advice given to Dana to refer back to when it comes to running and getting your head together during a race situation.
Good stuff right there.
BRETT!
Another Brett here who ran that race and the 1/2 one year. Good luck other Brett! There was ice on the ground at the aid stations the year I did it, so hopefully it won't be that cold. It is hilly!
