Sunday 10 miles

Twisted Pine Brewery... 15 taps of freshly brewed goodness.

10 miles in 1:18 HR below 150. 7:45 pace on my brutal hill route, HR was low and I felt amazing. According to my Garmin I had 2024ft of climbing for this run.

Last night some friends of ours rented the Twisted Pine Brewery for a party (ya- they rented out the whole brewery). We got a babysitter and went. The taps were open and I lost count after my 7th pint. They had their Hoppy Man IPA (12% alcohol), it was beautiful. Their Whiskey Red was my favorite and it tasted exactly like whiskey and porter. Woke up feeling great at the crack of dawn ready to go. Sorry GZ... you need train your liver like I have :)

And a HUGE congrats to my athlete BJ who ran his second marathon and is coming off of a huge triathlon season and just 2 weeks ago recovered from H1N1 flu. He ran 3:13 at the Cape Cod marathon, a 32:00 PR. Nice work BJ!

Ha!

Yeah ... actually, I have been doing okay with the higher ABV IPAs. There was some other stuff in the mix, including something called HARLEM that was not good.

Why the hell I would drink something called HARLEM, I really don't know.

The twisted pine is great. I love their hoppy boy.

Hoppy Boy may be my favorite beer of all time! Hoppy Man was awesome too. Basically 12% alcohol Hoppy Boy.
Harlem? I don't even want to know what was in that! HA! Good on ya though for trying something new though, even if you did pay for it this morning!
Any interest in running really, really, really, really long with me mid week?

A whole brewery??? That's the best thing I've ever heard! It's like renting out an amusement park for adults!

I really like all the woof pics you've had lately...sounds like good times last night--we went to a costume party, Michael was Elmo. Congrats BJ! Especially after the illness, that's awesome!

I thought I was pushing it with the Seeing Double IPA's at about 10%, but you guys in CO took it a step further with some 12's. Well done, as the footballers say, with the strength training.

Your new wolf pix freaked me out! Slowed down for the long run and finished spunky and happy...thanks for the advice!

Dave- It was pretty awesome. There were a bunch of base jumpers at the party too, they tell the best stories.

Wende- Elmo!? Ha! Did you get pictures?

Rick- The Hoppy Man was awesome. If you get the chance try it.

Meg- Glad to hear it!

Waking up feeling great after more than 7 pints is truly a great feat.
Did you sweat beer?
(Or just a beer scent since you don't sweat?)
jk
That is a sweet cake, too.

The cake was brilliant. The friend (our neighbor) who turned 40 recently got an elk with a bow.
No beer sweat, but my moustache smelled like bourbon. Hangovers rarely happen to me.

At seven pints, I lay on the couch and eat ice cream all day the next day and contemplate my error in judgement!

Interested. Wednesday? Really, really, really, really slow? What time? I could maybe take the morning off.

I saw that Anton ran 37 miles on Saturday so I want to run 38 :) I'm running a flat loop and want to hold 7:00-8:00 pace if I can. If I go Wednesday- which is fine with me- then I won't run Saturday's BASIC. I had sort of wanted to go Tuesday at ~9:00 starting at the So Bo Creek Path trail head on Baseline.

I can't swing Tuesday. Simply because I am a pussy. Either that or I being a corporate weenie. Which is to say the same thing.

The South Boulder Creek is a good flat option with the opportunity obviously to get fuel, as frequently as you like. I think to the power box on Marshall Road is 4 miles. 5 out and backs and you got 40.

HA! I've never seen that! And I'm flattered. Legolas is a stud! Or am I the dwarf?

Well I think you have the beard like the dwarf, but you seem to drink like the elf.
