A visit from Olivia the shoe thief.

We grilled pork chops this evening and Olivia came by to join us. She has her winter coat and looks beautiful. After I took the pork chops off the grill she came in the kitchen, looked at me, and stole one of Ben's shoes again...

The guilty girl. I traded her my pork chop bone for the shoe.

Wonderful! Sounds like she knows how to run a hard bargain.

Lucho - I wanted to ask you for your thoughts on your garmin 405. I am switching to GPS from a garmin 50 (foot pod) and am trying to decide between the 305 / 310 group or the more "watch" looking 405. Any thoughts on performance of yours are appreciated. Thanks.

Kevin- The Garmin 405 has a completely inadequate battery life. The watch dies with 10% battery charge left, so it's working with only 90% of a weak battery. You have to recharge it after every ~4 hours of use. My lap top has a better battery life.
The touch bezel is unique but they tried to reinvent the wheel. It's kind of cool at first then it becomes annoying after your sleeve touches it on a run and starts shuffling screens. Plus, I have taken it off and put it in my duffel bag before it automatically shut down and it ran down the battery.
The wrist band is is the worst I've ever seen. Because I have small wrists I have to wrap my wrist or put it over my sleeve to make it fit.
It's a pretty amazing watch and the features are awesome though. I've learned to work with these short comings. I would buy another one if the price was less or if they give it a better battery life.

Thanks! Helps me to a decision and confirms what I have read from reviewers whom I knew nothing of their running history.

Lucho-
I got the new garmin 310xt when my old 305 crapped out two months ago. It has been awsome-- some features: 20hr battery life, waterproof, multiple easy to read customizable screens, simple to charge and ability to remotely download/sync capability....very cool, highly recommend, easy to switch between run and bike, if that is your thing, and can pick up power data. I have not had great luck actually swimming with it, seems the water must get in the way of the signal when your arm is under water very far. Anyway, some thoughts for kevin.
