Sunday 0 miles. Week total 54 miles

Saturday was a15 mile point to point run with the last 8 miles up a steady 4%-13% hill to 9500ft. Then we camped for the night and I never recovered lost hydration. Today I worked and spent the day with my boys and drank what felt like 374 gallons of water. Not how I wanted to end the week for sure but I feel great tonight and my hamstring is 100%. My sickness is gone. From now to Chicago it's just nails. My motivation is crazy up right now and I'm heading in to the last 15 weeks rested and hungry.
I have a scheduled vasectomy on July 7th and am going to reschedule it for after Chicago. No more bumps in the road...

No sweat on the Vasectomy... I had it done on a tuesday afternoon and went to work the next day and was running again on thursday.. Back in the saddle! Plan on "getting busy" for the month after you get it done to "clear-the-pipes"... You're going to be one fast hombre come Chicago I have no doubt!

Ward- There seems to be a ton of anecdotes out there about recovery from a Vas.. One guy on a cycling forum said he couldn't run or bike for 2 weeks. Others say 1 day. I'm not taking any chances. If my recovery sucked I could be down for a week or more. It can wait.

"Clear the pipes?"

LOL. Better double up the hydration.

One of my training partners just had a vasectomy and he was out for about a week. I'd put it off if I was in your shoes...

Funny, there just never seems like a good time to let a doctor fire a laser beam at your junk....

I agree. Each Vas is a different story. I had to schedule mine because my insurance was changing 3 week before the Denver Marathon. I made it to the start but lost a week.

Matt and MJ- Ya, no way I want to miss a week for that. I'll get it when I can't walk after Chicago.

Ds- My lil guys have done their job, they've earned early retirement.

If you look at it long enough you can start to hear what the elk is thinking.
