Sunday 11 miles + 10k race.

Bob- you win.. I raced today for the first time since October 18th. It may sound odd but my only goal today was to not hurt, I wanted to run strong and comfortable only. I ran 35:4X. No watch and I just stayed comfortable and relaxed. This was marathon effort for sure. I know my HR well and I would guess I never broke 165. Jeff measured the course at 6.3 miles and it was fairly windy. Peter Vail commented that mile 3 was the slowest mile he has ever run in a race. I was ~2:00 off the lead and less than a minute behind Peter. I'm quite happy with the result even though it is the slowest 10k I've ever run (triathlon included) but considering how much I have struggled the last ~5 months I think the year can be salvaged. My lungs burned and I could never catch my breath- even jogging 10:00 pace for the warm-up I was short of breath.

I bet you'd have more of those good feelings if you raced more.
Congrats a nice race and those good vibrations.

Now guzzle 2 of your favorite porters.

Thanks Matt. I'm off alcohol until after Chicago (I'll at least give it a good try!).
Cheers!

Looks like you were spot on with planning to break 36:00. Great Job.

I heard it was the typical windy as all get out over at the dam.

When did you break Aquaman?

Jeff wasn't racing either. He just ran at his 1/2 Ironman race pace.
