USA Olympic 4 X 100 meter relay.. SICK!

Team USA swam SICK last night! Lezak, the anchor, swam the fastest relay leg ever swum with a 46.06. I was jumping around my living room trying not to scream and wake my wife and son. Of course I'm then wired and pumped up and didn't feel sleepy until midnight. Before the race one of the French team members had been quoted as saying "The Americans? We're going to smash them. That's what we came here for." I'm just curious how you can trash talk any swim race that has Michael Phelps in it!? Unless your Michael Phelps.

After that- Another world record fell in the men's 100-meter breaststroke! Kosuke Kitajima from Japan swam 58.91. Sub 59" for breaststroke!?!? That truly is an athletic feat that I cannot comprehend. Fellow swimmers will understand just how difficult that time is. I became a fan of Kitajima watching the last Olympics where he won gold for the first time. The guy was calm and cool like a ninja before he stepped in to the pool... then he turned in to 70 kilos of merman fury.

That relay was unbelievable. How about listening to the commentator talk about the Americans earning silver about 1/2 way through the final lap and then his voice suddenly becomes redirected as Lezak closes the deal! Wow.

Trash talk almost always backfires.

Such an amazing race. A new 100m Free WR was set on the opening leg, Phelps set a new AR as well.

to drop a swimming WR by 4 seconds is beyond comprehension...

Lezak's swimming was the biggest clutch swim ever.
