So today I'm completely agro. In part because on my run this morning I had a dog encounter with a "friendly dog". I won't peel back the lid on that can of worms.
So at ~1:00pm I get a call from Ben's doctor (he had his 4 year check up yesterday) and she tells me that Ben has Strep throat. She put in an order for meds so I load up the boys and we drive the 55:00 to the hospital. As were heading in the front door Oliver completely fills his diaper and then some. It's squishing out on the sides. The diaper bag? At home. So we go in and I get to the pharmacy counter and they tell me they don't have that medication in stock. The nice pharmacist lady said I need to drive down to Westminster. I said "No, I don't NEED to drive down to Westminster. You NEED to give me the medication that my doctor ordered." I explained that I had just spoken with the doctor and then drove an hour and my 2 year old just imploded in his diaper and I didn't bring extra diapers. She laughed (in a nice way, not the offensive sarcastic way) a little bit and then picked up the phone and called up to the hospital... when she put down the phone she said that they were going to borrow some medication from them and get me on my way. Then she picked up the phone again and 5:00 later a nurse brought me wet wipes and a diaper. Sort of made my day really.

It always works out in the end and if it hasn't worked out it's not the end.
Oh, and I hope the Big Guy feels better!
I can totaly relate... I've had the implosion several times over. Glad I'm through that stage!
Overflowing diaper, ignorant dog owner's front door. You get the idea.
Sort of? She narrowly escaped a serious ass kicking.
I can feel the frown, Wagg II.
I like the beat-down over on FF's blog (I still need to read that training tid-bit). I like reading that energy though. It's like a good dry hop.
Enjoy those shit bombs: Jack's taking his mother out playing chess, giving me articulate life advice, including that I need to get a real job.
WTF = IPA.
jesus, what are you feeding that kid? hope benny is feeling better soon, strep really sucks :(
those were the days for me...honestly, don't think i can relive them but it's awesome reading someone else's parental misadventures.:)

I've never been in that exact situation but as a dad of a nearly 3-year-old boy I can certainly appreciate your quandary and find a little humor in such predicaments.
Lucho, I really want to meet you. I've heard a lot about you and have heard you're kind of a yoda of training. Maybe we can meet for a run in Boulder sometime.

Admit it, deep down after the dust settles you love it. And I am jealous of your $hit - I have to work all day for a corporation. I would gladly trade some real $hit every once in awhile for all the better things that come with being home more with the kids.
Josh- I like that!
Shaun- Damn, I never thought of that (insert evil laugh)...
Donna- I love seeing other kids throwing tantrums. I feel for the parents but am relieved deep down.
Wyatt- I rarely get in to Boulder but live close to Walker Ranch. Drop me a line the next time your over that way. Thanks!
Brett- Yes... I AM completely blessed to be able to spend so much time raising my sons! Thank you for the reminder!
