Wednesday bike

2:15 with 3400ft of climbing. Average HR 137. I rolled down to Walker and rode ~3 miles of the loop and walked a couple of 'technical' sections because I am completely rusty on single track. It'll come though. Even by the end of the 3 miles I felt more confident. My fitness is much more solid than I anticipated. I saw Aaron out there also. We passed on a section that I was walking and he recognized me (even with my beard). I was trying to be stealthy and here I get busted walking.

Walker back up to your house could be a tough ride, eh?

BUSTED! You always need to be on your guard these days...you never know when someones going to catch you wussing out. (nobody saw me, but I had to come out of the pedal on part of that section too...so don't feel too bad.)

I started at the bottom of the big climb so it was a 55:00 climb to get home. It wasn't easy.

Kind of funny that we met the first time run hill intervals, and then we meet during my first trail ride in years and you are riding it also. And how did you recognize me? I would love to meet up and ride that with you once I get better technically. Plus I have some killer roads around there that are good for just building straight fitness.

I am surprised that you let Aaron live. Does the Code of the Survivalist Beard mean nothing to you???

The Code excerpted:
...
21. Kill anyone that might say something that could potentially be construed to slightly disparage your extremely rugged masculinity.
....
65. Pantene Pro-V only. It gives the full body lustre we need after a long day chopping wood.

1. Leave no witnesses.
He had a friend with him. Plus I forgot my handgun at home after my Democratic voting. I must be slipping.

Awesome job on the 5k too! And with a Franzia hangover. Very impressive.

And excellent post from you as always my friend. I had a ton to write in the comments but I tend to be a little ignorant when it comes to politics so I held my fingers. Loved it though.

i wouldn't want to call you a total pussy BUT there are really only two places on that whole loop where you even need to put a foot down...i'm just sayin'. when you figure it out, let me know.

heil/hall ranch is also a fun loop if you come down here and it really forces you to work on your technical skills more so than walker(unless, of course, you are riding the stairs.....)

Kerrie- Ok then... I will. I was a total pussy. I walked the parking lot. This was the first MTB ride on trails in a lot of years and I have no skills. But give me a month to get it back.

Believe it or not Eric Schwartz and I rode the Heil loop on roads bikes. It used to be quite smooth back in the early 00's. I ran it not long ago and it has eroded quite a bit.

Yeah, that was random. I think you had the beard starting when we met a few weeks ago though...so you looked similar to me. I'm game to go back up there any time to ride it with you. I like running it then riding it too. I'm moving to Boulder next week so it will be even easier for me to get out there...although that trail is probably going to get snowed in soon.
