Leadville hates me...

So we got to Leadville and decided that I would take the boys to the playground while my wife bought some provisions at the store. Ben runs over to the merry-go-round and I start to push him. I take one step to the right and my knee feels like it explodes. I couldn't put weight on it Friday and Saturday with out feeling the worst pain ever. Today it feels much better but is still very unstable and painful when I lock the knee. As for running? I guess wait and see. I am hoping it's a torn ACL but I suspect that I tore my meniscus which already had a little bit of tearing. Nothing that really even caused much pain, but this is a significant tear if it is one. I did find that IPA really helps.
We had an amazing weekend though! I took 183 pictures and will post them soon.

I am at a complete loss for words. Taking one step and having a knee "explode" is so surreal. I'm hoping the pain is in no way an indication of the severity. Take care.

THAT SUCKS.

But, at least it sounds like it is "there" versus something you could continue to screw around with?

IPA ... mmmm. Good.

Ugh, so sorry Lucho. This stuff always seems to happen when athletes are in great shape. I doubt that playground even knows just who it is messing with.

Excited for the pictures though! Add some percocet to the IPA and the meniscus will get about a million percent stronger. Trust me, I once watched House.

Nothing suck's more than getting hurt when we don't even hammer a hard run!

I think I'm fairly fortunate that my knees have been so solid after 38 hard years. My knee was kind of hurky for the last month and I think I'll come through this fine. I might need to run in pain, but I'll get it done. Thanks guys.

stop trying to be such a f'ing hero and get your knee looked at...we already know about your 'weak' upper body, so make sure you take care of your legs so that you can chase your boys around.
benny is looking like such a little boy! no more toddler there...
