Wednesday Sanitas X 2...

The Bone Dreamcrusher dropped me on the warm-up and if I had any dreams of the run today he would have certainly crushed them. The first lap was 'easy' and I ended up walking half of it, topping out in 21:00. The second lap was at my best effort for sure and I topped out in 21:15. Every time I would push even a little my chest tightened and my stomach burned and my legs quite literally had no strength. On some of the bigger steps I struggled to step up. I'm tired. Like 'big picture' tired...
Very fun though to run with David! I certainly didn't have his outlook when I was 22, he's an old soul. But his legs and heart are young!

Oh Sanitas. In Lake City Saturday it was the rather benign and Sanitas-like hill at the end that ruined me. 1,700 foot climb over about 2.5 miles from 9500 feet to 11,200 feet. http://picasaweb.google.com/charlesdanforth/SanJuanSolstice50MileRun#5215147551693721522

I literally could not lift a foot one foot forward without maxxing out my heart rate and spraying vomit everywhere. Even when I just laid down in the underbrush my heart wouldn't drop below 150 over several minutes.

The roofies I slipped into your water bottle were the only things that kept me close. Trust me, there were enough of them to take down a grizzly bear.

Awesome run, hope my blog report does it justice :)

Brett-
For me though this came at mile 3... feeling like shit ain't fun!

Dave- Is that why you were hunched over my water bottles at the start! Dammit! Thanks for the run!

That is fun that you got to meet Dave! Yes, he is an old soul. AND DID YOU KNOW we share a bday? (also with Craig Alexander). Clearly a great day in the heavens.
Hope you are well!

I am interested in what the simple fix is.

More music please DJ Wolfman.

There's some music to the right.
Simple fix is getting back to using the HR monitor and cleaning up my diet a little bit. I've gotten lazy with it and it's showing. I wonder how many people get so used to feeling like shit that they think it's normal? When my diet is good my training is sick good, when my diet sucks I train like crap... which tends to still be better than most.
