Two laps of Walker Ranch (15 miles in 2:24. 3400ft of climbing). The first lap was jogging and taking pictures. The second lap was brisk jogging in 1:05.
Note: The tree cross section picture is of Pine Beetle bore holes.
Great photos! I forget how much I enjoy that loop! Used to run it regularly when I first moved to Boulder from Seattle. I need to get back up! I had my one and only mountain lion sighting on the Homestead Trail across the road!
Ya, I ran it for the first time last year when we moved up here. It's just down the road and I love it. I haven't run Homestead yet. After St.G we'll have to meet up and run!
Tim ... isn't a fungus on the beetle that actually kills the trees? (on the internet so it must be true ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mountain_pine_beetle)
Thanks for those mate, seems like spring has finally arrived over at yours! We've had upper 80s last week already. Gotta love NYC. :)
Not sure if I can make it to Boulder this year but looking at your pics certainly makes me want to retire for good. My first step is to reduce to 50% to be able to travel more. But that already means a two week Euro trip in May, 2 1/2 weeks Kona - guess when - as support crew for the missus and heading over to Japan, the holy marathon land, to run Fukuoka.
I drop in here daily and like what I see, keep it up!

Awesome pictures! Now how am I supposed to enjoy my run around here this afternoon?
Duuuude! First of all awesome pics. But more important, are those claw marks in that tree!? Wow! Great pics though and thanks for the "virtual" tour!
Sorry Jeff. Close your eyes and go to a happy place?
Dave- No, but I can see that! Those are Pine Beetle bore holes. They are killing, and will kill, most of our trees in the next few years.
Thanks~
Life sucks, eh? Great pics.

Jim- Absolutely awful :)
GZ- Ya, I guess. The same as if I am attacked by a shark. I don't die from the shark, I die from bleeding to death?
trail conditions look awesome up there! any ice left?
i may need to dust off my mountain bike. it's so windy down here today.
Nice shots. Was it windy? I had to staple Pippit (dog)'s feet to the yard so he didn't blow away.
Kerrie- The ice had a coating of dirt making it not slick. If you biked you would maybe have to maybe 10 feet total. The trail is nice.
Tim- Not any wind at all up here until about noon, and then it was just breezy. Perfect conditions.

Thanks Uli. Drop me a line if you do come through here! Awesome going to Kona!
Cheers
Shark? There are sharks at Walker Ranch? Shit. I had been preparing for grizzlies.
Ha! That was good.
