Wednesday

Headed out for a short recovery jog this morning and walked back in my door 15 miles later. It's the "what's around this corner?" trap. So many roads and trails to explore... I ended up looping one of my regular routes down to Walker Ranch via a bit of cross country, back woods jogging with no trail. Jumping logs, weaving aimlessly through the forest. Fun, but not too productive in my progress towards the Chicago marathon. One of my all time heroes and friends, Michael Tobin, used to fill a small back pack with a water filter, extra socks, a thin bivvy sack, and a bag of barley and would run through the woods until he was exhausted... then he would eat, sleep... then repeat. His runs were/ are legend. He happens to also be one of those guys that I idolized even more after I met him.
Average HR 129.

We'll see.. I'm finally adapting to the altitude but the hills are just ridiculous. It will prepare me for all the big climbs at Chicago ;)

I think time on your feet and just enjoying being out there again count a ton!! Get it, man!! Chicago filled before I could pull the trigger so I'm in for CIM.

Agreed JP- I'm 22 weeks out and my main goal is to just hit 100+ mile weeks for a few months... running wild through the woods does count I guess! Sorry- but what race is CIM?

I lost my socks and I think I left them in the comment section. Has anyone seen them? They're white.
