Chicago Marathon anyone?

I registered for Chicago. I am placed in the top 100 corral up with the elites and get a 15:00 head start on the field. To get the top 100 starting position I needed to have run a sub 2:31 marathon in the last 2 years. I ran 2:30:45 at the Denver Marathon. Just squeaked in.. good thing I didn't walk any more than I did!
I'll be surrounded by 50 other guys (and girls) trying to run under 2:20. All of my past marathons I have been caught in no man's land by myself, this should be very good. I have 20 weeks from Bolder Boulder.

I might be there as I coach a group of charity folks. If so, you'd be most welcome to share. The bad news: I can't promise today.
The good news: it would be free.

anyway, good on you for racing there!
cheers
uli

If you run it I'll run it. Hopefully, I can run this one faster than I did in KC.

Chicago is a fabulous marathon. One of the best. You won't regret running it.

hopefully they don't "cancel" the race cause it gets too hot....i'm sure you'd like that!

as for the r.h. video(besides the fact that what he does with his arms looks really f'ed up), are you thinking that you would run faster if you had a little bit of "god" in you?
if someone had only told me earlier that was what it took.....

Thanks everyone.
Jameson- You should run it for your first marathon.
Beth- Registration closes when they fill the race, not sure when that usually happens. Right now I have 17 athletes and I'm not taking anymore triathletes, just runners.
Kerrie- Ya, the conditions could be brutal! LOL..
I'm not a religious person, certainly not when it comes to Christianity and the like. I do believe in a "higher power" and I do think the world needs more spirituality. I appreciate Ryan's faith and admire him for all that he's doing. Except swinging his arms that way.. but since his marathon best is a full 24:00 faster than mine, I would be a fool to criticize.
by7- Ya.. if the conditions are good and some top women show up, now-a-days is seems that low 2:20's are becoming more common.
