am) This was at 5400ft altitude on an accurately measured trail. There was approximately 2" of snow and (what felt like) sub zero wind chill..
2 mile warm-up.
5 miles in 34:01 at average HR of 147. 6:48 average mile pace.
I used a HR range based on a conservative estimate of my LT (I ran at 25-30 beats below LT).
I finished with 1 mile easy with strides.
I'm very stoked about this test. The conditions were far from ideal. Considering I am coming off a 1 month rest break... this is good.

you accurately measured 2 inches of snow? ;)
dude - it is not a day out there today to expect ideal results.
nice! you need snowshoes! really! have you ever done some of the races they have up at beaver creek or eldora? it's pretty intense.
Kerrie- I did one snow shoe race. A 10k in Winter Park... I was screaming fit and even lived in WP... 59:00 of complete agony. Never again.
GZ- It was actually 2.00000013529673 inches. I never run without my digital calipers.
Lucho, I like your playlist (from your request a few posts ago). Sometimes I find myself wanting to call in a request, but then I remind myself that you aren't a D.J. working at a radio station. But maybe you'd enjoy being a D.J. and spinning tunes for the legions of fans? There's actually been a few times where I wanted music at work and couldn't find anything good so I logged onto your blog and just listened...
Paul- Since we have the same music taste... you name it you got it. I do remember you being a huge Celine fan though... none of that! ;)
Yeah, Celine is good and all but I'd like to open up the request lines with possibly some "Afternoon Delight". I'm sitting in my AquaJet 9000 and if you don't think that Afternoon Delight is the greatest song ever...I will fight you...and that's no lie.
