The header pic courtesy of Rob Timko. This was at mile 60 and we were ~24:00 down on Leadman. Positive, laughing and having a blast... and we went on to win with a Leadman record.
Leadville 100 run.
11th over-all in 20:12
Leadman- 1st place/ new record by ~4:45.
I want to write a true race report for this in the coming days.
Lucho: wow, fantastic result -- many congrats...have been following your training via the blog and endurance planet podcasts all year - super! Patrick
ReplyDeletegreat job Tim. the suspense watching the live athlete tracker online last night was crazy! Looking forward to the report.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Lucho!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy listening to the ATU on Endurance Planet. It's been really helpful for me, so I was curious what would happen in Leadman.
I'm curious to read the race report.
I was following the Leadville 100 race tracker on Saturday night, and at the time I saw that you were close behind Troy. Sunday morning I saw that you had passed him late. I wondered if you were just tracking him so I'll be curious to find out.
Congrats - an awesome achievement.
Awesome job Lucho was a great race. Congrats on the win and the big buckle. I was keeping tabs on you and the others all day Saturday. Can't wait to read the race report.
ReplyDeleteWell done. Enormous achievement.
ReplyDeleteI assume there are some beers to be had now... Enjoy!
Impressive!! Great job!
ReplyDeleteImpressive!! Well done!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you will be writing a report even though you don't like them too much. I'm sure I wasn't the only one looking at splits and wondering what was happening. Awesome job!
ReplyDeleteWay to go!!! Congratulations, can't wait to read your RR.
ReplyDeleteIncredible result. The whole series was like a Rocky movie with the final race just like the climactic final, back and forth boxing match. Congrats.
ReplyDeleteAwesome work Lucho. Way to rock it.
ReplyDeleteThat's so awesome. Congratulations on the win. A race series doesn't get much more epic than that.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Awesome result and an even better header pic.
ReplyDeleteThat is a blast!! Congratulations on this Tim. I was following your reports on ATU and here. I'm very happy for you!
ReplyDeleteBest

Thats the way to run (those expressions).
ReplyDeleteThat photo is funny. That's after I said we should bust ass up that wall of a hill out of Twin Lakes just to impress the crowd.
ReplyDeletePlease frame that header photo somewhere. Proud of you. Even if you had not won the Leadman, that pic says it all.
ReplyDeleteAmazing. You're an inspiration man! You know how to get it done and get it done smart..AND fast. I'm going to give you some coaching advice for the next few weeks. The next pictures I want to see on here are of beer, fishing, and your boys!!
ReplyDeleteRegarding the photo, It's amazing, I saw almost every single runner go through every single aid station this weekend. The runners who were 'game faced' or too serious as early as Fish Hatchery outbound, all DNFed or had a REAL bad time, while the runners who were more relaxed, smiling all day, all finished and hit their goals. This was true from front of the pack to back of the pack.
Awesome job Tim! Did your goofy pacer sing to you as he did two years ago?
ReplyDeleteGet some rest after that hard fought series!
Darren
Tim- Of course!! I remember now. The thought of hammering up that thing made me laugh out loud.
ReplyDeleteNice work, saw you before hope pass return, you were in doubt you could catch Troy. I knew you had it in you, well done!
ReplyDeleteEPIC!!! Congrats dude!
ReplyDeleteLove seeing you succeed, in all its demensions. Great work.
ReplyDeleteAwesome job! Looks like in the photo you wore a pair of Nike trainers? Was the course that runnable?
ReplyDeleteI know Tony was talking about maybe wearing a pair of road flats.
Awesome and Congrats! Nails
ReplyDeleteCongrats! I had NO DOUBT you would get this done! Glad the body and the mind cooperated. Looking forward to the report!
ReplyDeleteAmazing result. Congrats on the whole series. I wanted to see you do it but wasn't sure given your semi-skitzo nature if it would come together. So glad it did and you made history in my town. Hope you return to sharpen those records in the future.
ReplyDeleteJoining the chorus...terrific job Lucho. Inspiring.
ReplyDeleteCongrats super stud Lucho! Your son must be happy to own that big buckle :)
ReplyDeleteQuote for this image: "We are EFFING STUPID, HA, HA!!"
ReplyDeleteone word.
BALLS.
Large. Steel. Hairy. Balls.

ReplyDeleteThanks everyone! I have my race report written, just need to tweak it.
