My legs were trashed this morning and I thought they felt pretty OK up until the descent on Four Crosses when I was forced to very gingerly limp down the descent as it felt like I had a carpet knife stuck in my quads. I say carpet knife because on the side of the road I found Steve's Stanley carpet knife (in magic marker on the side it reads "Steve's knife".) I'm kind of pleased that I felt so trashed, I rarely break down so severely and I was beginning to think I wasn't training hard enough.
Tonight at 8pm the Leadville 100 bike lottery is done...

I want to feel like that. ;)
Change your focus from Ironman to a 14 mile hill climb in 16 weeks and you can.
Fair enough.
Good luck with the lotto tonight, hope you get in!
As much as I want you to get into the Leadville bike race, I think you will do insanely amazing things at the (slightly) shorter running races this year. So I'm torn at how hard I should root for you to get in, because I know you will show up at the start line ready to crush dreams, and I'm worried that might take away from the running dream crushing. (that sentence brought to you by hooked on phonics)
Either way, I can't wait to follow the races (hopefully some in person!) this summer.
