Thursday bike in pictures

2:45 with 4200ft of climbing.

Kind of a cool shot of Denver. I love the juxtaposition. Quiet and tranquil next to the old worn wood looking down on a chaotic and modern world.

The barn.

Yep. Denver.

Muddy, and extremely hilly, dirt road and the Continental Divide. Spectacular! The pic doesn't even come close to the magnitude of the view.

The sky was cool today. Tons of interesting clouds.

Looking towards Pikes Peak.

Ancient homestead at 9400ft.

Here's mud in your eye... glasses.

I made this seat cover a while back out of an old suede jacket I bought at the thrift store for $5.00. I covered the saddle and then burned the Independent Fabrications logo in to it. Once the weather dries out (6 months from now) I'll put it on my mountain bike. Next up is one for my Merlin, their logo is of a falcon and is awesome.

uh, could you make a seat cover with a phoenix logo for me? Very cool.

very nice eye on the photos.

Yes. Get me the logo and tell me what color leather.

And smooth leather or suede? I can make do with a ladies purse for the leather which usually comes in a lot of different colors. I'm going to do hand stitched brown leather for the handle bar tape on my bike too.
And I can also do patch work for the seat if you want seams which look cool.

For our camp I would like to take a TON of pictures and video and then compile them in to a CD for each camper. That would be a pretty cool memento from the camp.

uh, I think we have an arts and crafts store in the making next door to the sweet beer store in your little town!

Always like suede over smooth leather.

A compilation video is a must when completing something like our camp. Friends and family won't believe it without seeing it.

I've wondered about the 'custom seat' business. I love doing it. The leather-bound handle bar wrap is another animal. Real craftsmanship. On e-bay leather-bound handlebars sell for $100. It would be cool on a mountain bike too.
I imagine a 4:00 run will turn in to 4:30 with photos...

are you taking orders? seriously, you should open up shop somewhere.....i know this cool little place called weston.....a handcrafted gift by Lucho would be a nice memento for the camp. I'll start looking for ladies purses and if you let Mom know, she'll have any color you want by Christmas! ; )

Wende- I'll do the Weston gig ONLY if I can integrate with the hand rolled cigar shop. That was an awesome shop! Of course I would probably start smoking again...

A handcrafted gift for the camp... brilliant! We hadn't thought of that but I love it! What can I make?

Lucho - give it a shot. There are so many wealthy folks on bikes right now who seek individualism. I wouldn't bother with a shop. Online. By order. Pre-paid. Make it really expensive, don't sell yourself short. Super customized. People can send in their fav saddles or you get them wholesale. (btw, Porsche makes seat covers from the Buffaloes you shot and one guy intended to use the hymens of all the virgins he popped but that's a whole another story). Spread the word. Sell the whole former pro living in the woods makes leather seat covers theme. Basic website. Pics, pics, pics. Make a FB page, get on bike forums.

Thanks Uli! I have ordered several square yards of leather. Some light tan and some baby blue and will get a few made to show around. I thought about ordering a Concor saddle and covering it in bright yellow and making a nice Livestrong saddle and then sending it to Lance. Or walk up and hand it to him at the Leadville 100. If he rode it that would be all the advert needed.
Now I need to find some lime green leather for your Selle...

Dude, I didn't say you should try milking me but hey, if you pull off a lime green SLR, I'm your bitch.

Oh, and with Gran Fondo New York logo, of course.

If you indeed start selling those covers, we'd love to promote you.
