am) 9 miles easy jogging. HR max 141.
pm) 4 miles very easy and slow. HR max 138 on the steepest hills/ avg. 126.
I probably won't race tomorrow night- my left gastroc has a little twinge. Racing on a track for 5000 would be foolish. If it turned in to an injury or even forced me to ease up on training it wouldn't be worth it. With injuries- hindsight isn't 20/20, it's a mistake. No risk now.

I still don't get the controlled HR on hills. I have to practically walk to stay under 145. That'll be the day although I'm fooling myself: when it's time to go it's time to go!
yer the man.
I'm running 7:00-7:30 pace up some solid hills up here with out ever going over my HR caps. Patience my friend, it'll happen. But not if you keep letting your HR go where it wants.
