I had the best Friday in the whole world... maybe even in the whole county. The Boulder Humane Society had a 'free kitten day' so we went down with the boys and adopted a super sweet little tabby. Ben first named him Two Flynn (we already have a tabby cat named Flynn), but he changed it to Rudi. Which could be confusing later... Captions below the pics (I'm never sure where to put them).
I worked in my 'shop' for much of the afternoon and forgot to run.
My 'shop'.Gorgeous day with cool temps and complete silence in the canyon.
Some Ranger IPA on the bench I am making.
Mortise and tenon.
The homestead. You can see the sun setting in the background on a 10,000ft peak.
My space. This is my 'man cave'. Several Ironman Hawaii finisher's medals, two axes, log chain, a sweet pic of some ancient running shoes and a pull up bar. Heaven...
Rudi (the fox) came by as he (he being an assumption) does every night. This is one of Olivia's (our long time friend) pups. He's super nice and friendly.
Rudi coming up to say hi. .
Or coming up to smell my beer?

This is pretty much required pre reading for the blog or lucho in a nutshell stuff.
Nice spread you've got up there. It makes me want a place in the hills… not that I need much convincing.
That's amazing about the foxes. I've never had one approach me, although a few have been so relaxed near me that they barely bothered to walk around me. They're so bold I thought maybe they were ill.
The IPA at Wild Mountain up your way was pretty good, but the last time I was there they were out. The stout too. Seems like I want the same thing everyone else does.
Based on the picture, I am guessing that "Mortise and tenon" is a euphemism for "Birds and the bees". That is very well-planned parenting through carpentry.
This is becoming me in a nutshell!
Mtnrunner2- The foxes have been coming around since we moved up here. They aren't necessarily bold, just not really fearful.
Dave- The beer was simply to loosen up the log a bit.
You've got to be careful though - too much beer and that log could lose some of it's strength.
After a few beers and the log just THINKS it's strong. Plus it gets belligerent.
we're back! can hardly wait to meet the new kitty. remember to ask glenn how much weight he has gained and also how to put the wood together without nails. he did that on the drawers in the cabinet/hutch thing he built.....
Kerrie- Ya, Saturday will be fun! Glen is what? 140 pounds now right?
