50+ mph descent

The video looks far gnarlier than reality. It's almost a straight shot for the first mile after the switchback. The only sketchy aspect is holding the gopro in my hand. Gotta get a mount of some sort.

Such a fun descent. Quick question, did you change the gear on your CX bike to ride the hills? Thinking I may need to change the rear. Thoughts?

That's my road bike. And I use a compact setup- 50 X 36 with a 27t on the back. I never ride the flats and today's ride was 13 miles with 2400ft of gain which is a fairly typical ride, nothing flatter. So the compact is warranted just to allow a higher cadence. Even the 36 is a bit too much on some climbs. The times I have ridden down on the flats I've rarely felt I need a standard crankset. 50 X 11t is plenty for me.

Hi lucho
I've been following you and tawnee for years now and you've changed my life with maffetone and your ironman success has been an inspiration.
However I have a problem with one of my high achieving clients that has qualified for Kona.
So could I pay you for a Skype consult because I don't want to bugger up this guys Kona.
We are based in Melbourne Australia
Cheers
Stuart
