Video

I have new video software with a new camera... the software completely sucks and the camera which is awesome records in .mov format which Windows movie maker won't accept. So even this short video took me  about an hour to make.

For a second I didn't notice that last sequence was underwater because it was so clear. High quality.

Yeah, why can't Apple (.MOV) and Windows (.AVI) get along? Still, after all these years? Come on.

I've made a couple attempts at videos, and even with years of computer and image experience I find it confusing and tough to get simple things done. It's just so different from any other kind of software.

I shopped around, and even tried a demo of Adobe Premiere (my system isn't powerful enough), and I ended up buying Apple's iMovie because I own a MacBook and I like the simplicity of their products. Now I need some decent footage.

Ya, the camera is awesome with good HD quality video. I'm pretty lame at the computer stuff, probably because I rely too much on common sense.

Cool! I never used to underwater feature before. I think the camera even has a specific 'underwater' setting that may even make the picture clearer. I dunno, I never really futzed with it. Hard to beat the easiness of Apple when it comes to photo/video editing. It's made for uh...people like Lucho ;) The videos will likely take longer to render and such because HD files are so much larger too. One feature on that I thought was really cool was the 60 frames per second recording option so that you can really use good slow-mo (great for things like stride analysis on a dreadmill and such)

Ya man, I love the camera... thank you again, that was too generous of you. From what I understand I might be better off downloading a .mov converter and then loading it in to windows movie maker? I'm worried that the quality will be diminished then. I would post a video every day if it were easier and faster.

Some poking around and I'd ditch the Kodak software and windows movie maker and use this free software package http://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/index.html - I'm not a windows guy so I haven't used it, but googling around it seems like the best editor out there to handle .mov
