The day was/is sort of a fiasco. I opted to skip the race in favor of running up in the high country but we woke up to quite a bit of snow. Nearly a foot up on the trail I had planned to run. Also because I said I wasn't going to race, the day was planned around leaving for British Columbia earlier (which didn't happen) and I also wasn't going to make everyone wait in dumping snow/ rain while I raced. So I hit a railroad bed/ trail for a little volume. The footing was horrible because the only shoes I brought were my old and nearly smooth bottomed Nike Lunars. Every toe off had a 2" slip. I did feel spectacular though and was able to cruise joggingly at sub 6:30 pace.
