3430ft of climbing with average HR 146/ average pace 8:37. Solid.
I took a few pics of mountain lion tracks on the road. You can see my foot impression... it's not as deep as the lion's and I weigh ~147 pounds. Big cat.

Sweet! Better start packing your Bowie knife right along with your water bottle!
AZK- I'm not sure a knife would do much unless it came down to a face to face confrontation, and even then I highly doubt it would give you a chance. Mt lions don't walk up to their prey and if they're so inept that a runner could hear then coming and have time to draw a knife then they would surely starve to death first.
G- It walked right down the road on my regular run route. And those prints were freakin HUGE and deep. I figure it's just a matter of time before I run in to one.
Thanks AZK! Of course I may be completely full of crap on the the whole mt lion thing. I guess that it would be better to have a very large knife rather than nothing at all!

If I saw those tracks, my HR would probably be averaging 146 as well.
... with ZERO miles of running.
