Friday

Epic first day in the North Cascades. I couldn't help myself and ended up heading to Sauk Mountain leaving myself knackered which doesn't bode well for racing tomorrow. I have a bead on a jeep road that climbs ~3000ft in 5 miles before turning to trail for another 2000ft and this is more tempting than racing for tomorrow morning. If I do race I am leaning towards the 10k. I despise the 10k more than all other race distances because it has always been my weakness. I took tons of pictures and video but will maybe post more later.

Good luck!
I despise 10Ks, too. Have never done one, avoid them, although I do know doing what you don't like makes you stronger!

Personal opinion. 10K on the road or a day in the Cascades? Not a question dude. I hope you choose the mountains for me, I love that shit up there. I would live there in a heartbeat.

If I had the time, I would certainly lean toward the 5,000 vert. over a measly 5k any day.......

I have my camera and altimeter ready to go plus a bit of studying on Google Earth. I'm opting for 4 hours on Cascade trails...
