Saturday Track session

We had a good group show up today for 5 X 1000 on the track. Rob Timko and his wife Laurie, Amy Schneider (the queen of cadence), Aaron Kennard (who looked strong) and then the usual suspects of GZ and Bob. The wind was brutal hitting maybe 30mph and sustained at 20mph, but I think it's good even if you're cussing it. Last week I ran this averaging 3:09 per 1000 and today I averaged 3:19 at a harder effort. My breathing was much better today at 5500ft than it was last week at sea level though.
I'm going to try to keep the group thing going every Saturday. Through ~March it will stay focused on shorter and faster work like the track or next Saturday's hill intervals, and then April- August will be focused on longer more moderate efforts like Walker Ranch time trials and long tempo. Any and all are welcome to join! Next Saturday is loosely planned as NCAR hill intervals starting probably around 7:00am or so.

Good running with you guys today. That wind was awesomely embraceable! I'm already getting my hopes up for a stiff west wind coming down of NCAR next week.

Ya Aaron, nice to run with you! You were strong man. And NCAR against that wind? I may practice my Leadville goal pace.
