9 miles in 55:31/ 6:10 pace. The first mile went in ~7:30 then I slowly increased pace finishing with the last 3 miles dropping from 5:50 down to 5:30 pace. The effort/ pace felt awkward more than hard. My stride definitely smoothed out and felt relaxed between 6:00-6:15 pace which is probably where my marathon fitness is right now. I'm in Missouri and this was on a rolling course, definitely not flat... but holy oxygen!

Geez. I've been feeling good about what I've been doing, but you're already ahead after just a few days of running. That is crazy how you can do that, get fit so quickly.
It's almost disappointing for me though. I can get fit in training but when it matters I fold. I've run 5 marathons with the slowest at ~2:40 and then 3 marathons between 2:30-2:31.
You ran well when it mattered.
What part of Missouri are you in? How did you adjust from running at high altitudes versus the humid Missouri conditions (hasn't been real humid latly)but still thats a pretty good run
Platte City just outside of KC. The humidity isn't bad at all. Kind of nice vs the dry high altitude. But we've been here in the heat of the summer and it's brutal!
You are 21 miles NW of where I was born, bred, educated and learned to run....parts of MO are flat but most of it is very hilly....try the Heart of America marathon with 7 major hills---I did a 3:02 there once upon a time....
Wait- MO?! Come visit me and my family!! Amazing run!
